Quiet Contemplation
It's Good for the Soul
We all need a little quiet contemplation from time to time.
It’s good for the soul.
At this time my soul is in much need of quiet contemplation.
So, I share with you a poem I wrote about just that.
Enjoy!
Hey friend, make sure to take a peek at the Inner Joy Compass Prompt.
My Rocking Chair and I
Come winter when nature nudity starks
Blossoms furl in a frozen stupor
And roots sleep in snow blanket hibernation
My rocking chair and I take by the fireplace
Come spring when apple blossoms fragrant the air
Lilacs perfume through the crevices
And junipers open to the sun-drenched days
My rocking chair and I take to the veranda
Deep floorboard grooves - inside and outside
The mystery of hypnotic flames
The rhythm of nature’s perfection
Move
My rocking chair and I
Inner Joy Compass Prompt:
As you turn inward, take in a soft, subtle breath.
Take a minute and think about your strengths or attributes. You know the stuff you’re proud of. Please, give yourself the gift of feeling good about yourself.
Envision for a moment that you are in a bubble. Give this bubble a color.
Now breathe in and fill your bubble up with all those good feelings you have for yourself.
And quietly ask…
What does Love what to share with me at this moment?
What else does Love what to share?
What is the most graceful way to take in (or act upon) this message from love?
“We need quiet time to examine our lives openly and honestly – spending quiet time alone gives your mind an opportunity to renew itself and create order.”
And I would add to that - quiet contemplation time feeds your soul.
When you feel the need for quiet contemplation, may you cozy up in your favorite spot and feed your hungry soul with self-loving attention.
I thank you so much for hanging out with me.
I truly appreciate you.
May you be blessed with the gift of quiet contemplation.
I send you infinite love,
Gloria
That is such a beautiful poem.. I can see you and your rocking chair on the move.
Wow I so needed this exercise and poem right now!
I needed to be reminded to find my joy even in the smallest moments, and to laugh more.
The laughter part immediately took me back to my visit to the Hall of Records where the Cherubs were sliding down the stairs bannisters and laughing. They we’re being childlike and playing this reminded me to play with my inner child more frequently as child’s play can really feed my soul. Seeing Santa Clause at the very tippy top floor and his laughter and jovial smile, oh those dimples☺️. Having Quan Yin begin to smile at all the joy in the space. Gloria your giggles and laughter through the phone spoke to the pure joy being felt by both of us.
What love gave to me in the beautiful clear bubble with pearlescent reflections as it was caught by the light!
Is that I need to remind myself about the love and joy surrounding me always! I am going to start writing affirmations on my mirrors again.
You are enough
You are loved
Laugh more, the joy is in the journey
Get out of your head and go outside
Many blessings Gloria and thank you for continuing to show up for us💜
🍀Much love and light beautiful one! Deborah
