Aloha and Happy New Year!
It’s been a while. I’m feeling much more myself these days, and I’m happy to be back here sharing with you.
I sure hope you and yours had a lovely holiday.
I love the holidays, especially Christmas with all its magical energy. I said to a friend, “Christmas feels like the spreading of the Aloha spirit.”
Can you hear that I’m a bit sorry to see the magic of the holiday ending?
Yep, I do feel sad to see it go, but I’m just as eager to continue my life journey. And the mark of a New Year is a great way to kick off new beginnings.
New Year Traditions
I kick off my New Year with a family tradition of soaking black-eyed peas on New Year’s Eve to make sure they are good and ready to cook on New Year’s Day. Oh, and without fail, I do what my mother always did and make fried potatoes and onions to go with it.
YUM!
If you haven’t heard, the idea behind the black-eyed peas is that they bring good luck and abundance. Does it work? Who knows. But I love the idea of it.
How about you? Do you have a New Year family tradition?
If so, I’d love to hear about it.
In addition to the family tradition, I have created my traditions.
The New Year is the Perfect Mark for Creating New Beginnings
Each year has its metaphysical meaning. As always, I start my New Year by giving thought to the metaphysical meaning of that year.
(Note: Metaphysical seeks to understand the invisible or that which is below the surface or superficial.)
Our New Year - 2024 - is an 8 year. Metaphysically an 8 represents abundance and power. Wow! Think about the significance of that.
Since all things are energy, of course, the energy of the year affects us. What effect do you think the energy of abundance and power has on you?
Ready to get curious? Let’s take the metaphysical meaning to a personal level with the simple act of asking ourselves some questions.
Metaphysical “8” Questions:
How is the metaphysical meaning of the “8” year in alignment with my desires?
Where in my life do I want to grow my abundance and my power?
What are my first steps with the growth of my abundance and power?
How do I want to gracefully and joyfully take those first steps?
Along with looking at the metaphysical meaning of the year and what it means for me, together my husband and I write a letter to the Celestial Kingdom whereby we give our thanks and share our desires. We say a prayer and burn our letter. We also keep a copy of it.
If you like that idea, it’s not too late for you to write your Celestial letter. The Heavens are always eager to support you.
Keeping It Simple
I don’t like to get too complicated with my New Year desires.
After I give some thought to the metaphysical meaning and write the letter with my husband, I turn my focus onto how I want to feel throughout my year.
I do this by creating a feeling theme for my year. For example, last year I focused on love by focusing on giving GEMS.
This year I’m making it the year of feeling creative, which by the way, is very much in alignment with an “8” year. When I’m being creative I’m definitely in my power. Thus, abundance is sure to follow.
What about you?
If you were to give your year a feeling theme, what feeling would you choose?
How do you want to be impacted throughout your year?
What do you want more of?
Heightened Joy
Spirit of Adventure
Greater Love
Deeper Compassion
Art of Giving
Ease and flow
Being Free
After you’ve decided on your feeling theme for the year, you’ll want to keep it in the forefront of your mind, at least for the first several months. After that, it becomes second nature.
You can keep it in the forefront of your mind in several ways:
Writing it down and placing it in conspicuous sites such as a bathroom mirror, refrigerator, computer desk, or on your phone.
Create a phrase that you can repeat to yourself throughout your day e.g. I AM phrases are good - I AM creative, I AM loving, I AM compassionate. Or, Every day in every way I AM more and more ______________(fill in the blank). Or, I see evidence of how _________________ I AM everywhere I look.
Write about WHY you want to have more of that feeling throughout your year. Then reread it periodically. This will get you going.
I’d love to hear about your feeling theme. Want to share?
A New Year song to get your juices flowing.
“New Year = a New Life! Decide today who you will become, what you will give, how you will live.” Anthony Robbins
Thank you so much for being here with me for another year. May your new year be delightfully impactful.
I appreciate YOU!
Next week, in the spirit of new beginnings, I’ll share some new stuff that’s on the horizon.
With all my love,
Gloria
