Flabbergasted
Last week when I realized that I had sent out the wrong post, I was flabbergasted. My thoughts raced - what must you think about a post that starts with random phrases and repeats messages, and no personalization—really?!
It took me, as my sister likes to say, a minute.
But after I had time to take in my minute, I had a good laugh. What the heck, so you got a glimpse of my writing process.
I’ve made bigger faupuax.
Like when I was in England and talked about needing to buy a pair of pants to a gentleman on the train, and again in front of more than 100 people. I had no idea that a pair of pants refers to undergarments. Big faupuax!
You may be asking, what does integrity have to do with admitting my faux pas?
Well, from where I stand, if I didn’t mention my mistakes then I wouldn’t be sharing honestly who I am, fumbles and all.
In other words friend, I wouldn’t be walking my talk, and I couldn’t have that.
In the wise words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind"
Okay, now that I’m in integrity, are you ready to read the mistake-post made right?
GOD Walks His Talk - One Word
Here’s how the Eighth Face of God - One Word - came to me.
In meditation I feel this pull, much like a coaxing, I relax into it.
Next thing I know I’m out in the galaxy, light as a feather. Mesmerized, I behold the beauty of the planets and the vast space.
Aliveness vibrates my every cell – I soar as free as a bird. I float weightless as a cork on the water. I rejoice as divinely as an Angel. WOW!
And then…I hear:
Planets will never fall out of the sky, stop rotating, or fly into another galaxy. You can trust this to be true. And you can trust that the sun will always shine, and the moon will always come out.
Regardless of what humans predict – you can trust the Word of God above all others.
You can trust that God has your back and the back of the world.
You can trust the integrity of God!
God is the - One Word.
The One Word is - Incorruptibility.
I can’t use enough exclamation points to share what an out-of-this-world experience this was.
As I’ve mentioned, we too have within ourselves the capacity of embodying each of the Twelve Faces of God.
Therefore, humans, like God, can keep their word, be honorable, and have integrity.
We may not hold our integrity to the perfection of God, but we do have an internal justice system. Let’s remember that after all, personal growth is an ongoing process. So even if we have to fumble, we can do our best to follow what feels right in our gut and heart.
To further follow what feels right…
Inner Joy Compass - Getting in Integrity with Ourselves
While answering, you may want to touch your heart and/or your belly. And breathe deeply from either of those areas.
Okey, Dokey, with compassion, let the reflection begin.
Am I in integrity with myself regarding…?
My body
My mind
My emotions
My actions
My finances
My creativity
My significant relationship and/or other relationships
My relationship with my Creator
My home
My act of service/work
If there is an area that you are out of integrity with, what is one small action that you can take now to bring yourself back into agreement with yourself?
If you have more than one area, begin with the least daunting one.
May we all grow our integrity and live our lives in agreement with ourselves, knowing that growth is an ongoing process and it’s okay to fumble along the way.
I’d love to hear about how you're growing your integrity.
Thanks so much for hanging out with me.
I appreciate YOU.
With all my love,
Gloria
