We’ve all heard that we are One and should - Live and Let Live.
I’m posing the notion for most of us, it’s easier said than done.
My Experience with Division
I went to the laundromat to wash a large rug. While my rug was being washed, I focused on cleaning my van. A gentleman started talking with me. He was quite pleasant and friendly. He even told me about his journey of learning how to get along with his wife. I listened and commented as I continued to clean my van.
Then he commented on the cross I was wearing, “Your cross is nice.” I thanked him. He then said, “You must love Jesus.”
I touched my cross, smiled, and responded, “I love all the Ascended Masters.”
Oh, friend, this previously kind man went from pleasant to nasty. He started screaming at me. He demanded that I believe in only Jesus. When I said I appreciated everyone’s religious beliefs, he got louder and louder, then closer and closer to me until he stood inches away from my face. His outrage rattled me.
I asked him to please leave me alone, again and again. I turned away from him and began vacuuming my floorboard, but he got angrier and angrier and louder and louder.
At one point I thought he might hit me. My fear escalated and I thought - get away from him. So I walked toward the door of the laundromat. Still yelling at me, he followed me.
All of a sudden I felt this strength inside of me come to life. It was as if my Divine Self took over. I stopped mid-step, turned around, made a fist with my hand and held it up toward the sky. Then as an inexplicable powerful surge of energy coursed through me, I looked at him square on and said, “I AM the only Governing Presence here!”
He came to a standstill, looked bewildered, and stuttered, “ah, ah, ah.”
I quickly turned and went into the laundromat. I must have looked pretty shaken up because a lady there said, “Are you alright?”
I stood there speechless, trembling from the ordeal. She came close to me and asked, “Is everything okay?”
I finally got a grip and told her that the man outside had been yelling at me, and I thought he might hit me. I said, “He doesn’t like that I don’t believe the way he does.”
Whoa…that’s all it took for this woman to get fighting mad. She responded, “Where is he? I’ll make him a new a..hole. My Mom just died, and I’m not in the mood for anyone’s bullshit.”
She stormed out the door with me trailing behind her. With a combat-ready stance, she said, “Where is he!?”
I looked in all directions. He was nowhere in sight. Thank goodness!
Dear, truth be told, I’m still taken aback by the nightmarish incident.
Food for Thought
How do you feel when someone’s spiritual beliefs differ from yours?
What about their politics? Or their values?
Do you create separation from those who are unlike you?
We know that to Live and let live…are high truth words that when respected, provide the way for the rights of all, yet can we? Can we let go of trying to get another to live the way we deem appropriate and give them the same courtesy we expect for ourselves?
Can we maintain a sense of Unification? (Oneness)
I understand that God is Unified therefore we are Unified.
The question is - can we be, what we’re meant to be?
I love Gay Luce’s quote, "It's only in our minds that we are separate from the rest of the world."
After hearing and experiencing the 10th Face of God, I agree with Gay.
My Experience with the Tenth Face of God: Unified
As always, deep in meditation I received the 10th Face of God.
Here’s what came through:
In heightened awareness, I witness and feel as if I become images of everything, large and small – galaxies, trees, blades of grass, fields of flowers, people of every nationality, single body parts…hair, toes, eyelashes, etc., animals domestic and wild, oceans…rivers, lakes, and their inhabitants - and I hear the words: ecosystems, thoughts, and dreams, all of the earth and beyond, all of it.
Then I heard it – the word: Unified.
And then - Unified – Creation is undivided.
WOW! Experiencing unification was nothing short of Heavenly.
I’d like for you too, to experience unification. So, are you ready to get curious and discover ways to become more Unified.
Iner Joy Compass Prompt:
Deep breath. Awareness time.
In what ways might you be creating division with…
Relationships (especially relationships that you struggle with)
Work/Service
Community
People of a different culture
People of a different religious belief or political view
If you noticed some ways you are creating division…
Get curious. Allow yourself to wonder about the person’s differences.
Try putting yourself in the other person’s shoes, a little empathy can change your perspective.
Try a little good old-fashioned communication and make it your intention to listen below the words. What is really being said?
Having trouble accepting a culture, or a religious sect, try educating yourself to broaden your perspective.
May we recognize that our differences are ultimately superficial and embrace our unity. To paraphrase Buddha, may we experience the unity of life by seeing ourselves in all beings.
I’d love to hear from you. What do you feel about unification?
Thanks for being here with me.
I appreciate you so much.
With all my love,
Gloria
