It’s that time again, another seasonal change.
Do you believe as I do that each season has personal meaning?
Friend, I regard each season as an opportunity to ponder our personal seasonal meaning.
A natural time of self-discovery.
If we look closely will see that each season is ripe with meaning and that we inherently want to follow that meaning.
Winter with its coldness and bleakness tends to be a time when we typically want to be still and reflect. Whereas spring with its sunshine and warmth, and the blooming of flowers grants us the easy opening for newfound hope and a little blooming of our own. Oh, and summer with its intensity of heat and loose schedules, we instinctively want to hang out and enjoy ourselves.
And then there’s our new season - our transitional fall- when summer changes to winter and our nighttime arrives earlier, our trees change colors and leaves fall to the ground - a time when change is taking place all around us- a time when we too can naturally change.
Fall Question
My husband and I had some friends over this last weekend.
The deep, soulful person I am, I can’t help but want to deepen the conversation. Thus, not only did I give each person a card with their own question to answer at the dining table, but I also had a question for us once we reclined into the living room.
Here’s the living room question: Now that we’re in a season of change, what change do you want to see in your life?
Their facial expressions and body language gave way to their inward thought on the question.
Here’s my answer with my backstory, “Every time I have a thought of anyone that is less than 100% positive I bless that person. I want to get to a place in my thinking where I no longer need to bless people because I no longer ever hold any thought that is less than 100% positive about them.”
I eagerly, and determinedly, look forward to this change within myself.
Dear, I suggest that you too give the change question some thought, after all, it is fall. The perfect time to transition into something new.
Okay, here’s your chance - What change would you like to see in your life? ‘Wish I could see your facial expression.’
Although I can’t see your facial expression, I’d love to hear your answer to the change question.

Hey, are you curious about the questions I handed out in the dining room? I thought you might be. So, I’ve made them into the Inner Joy Compass Prompt because when answered they bring so much joy!
Inner Joy Compass Prompt:
Who are your heroes?
What is one of the kindest things someone has ever done for you?
What are you passionate about and want to spend more time doing?
What is something new you recently tried and loved?
Where have you found peace?
What moves you to tears or gives you goosebumps?
I’d love to hear your answers!
Please comment.
